The camera started as a side project and never quite stayed there. Most of what I make sits somewhere between portraiture and street photography: people in ordinary moments, and places when the light does something unexpected — rain across a pavement, a gallery after hours, a road the morning after snow.

Sound and image feel like the same habit to me. Both are ways of paying attention — to people, to the places we pass without looking, and to the things that don’t sit quite right. I’d rather a picture feel true than look expensive.

The quotation marks stay. They’re a reminder that I’m still learning.
